What is E-Cooperative Education?

E-Cooperative Education can be a one or two credit course. Using a computer and email a student can work in their placement from his/her own home. The employer/supervisor emails projects and tasks to the student. The student emails progress reports and the finished product back to the employer/supervisor.

E-Coop gives students the opportunity to participate in a greater variety of work experiences than have been available to them in the past. Placement hours (approx. 100 to 200 hours of work) are completed through e-work tasks/projects for an employer. E-work is not a job but a method of working that uses information and communication technologies to work independent of location. Students must be currently enrolled in, or have successfully completed, the related course. When you register for E-Coop, our highly trained teachers will work with you to make a plan for what related course you should use and were your work experience will be best spent. Reminder Notice: E-Cooperative Education students do not receive hourly wages or a salary for their placement component hours. The hours are not associated with the mandatory 40 volunteer hours.

  • Connections can be made over a long distance.
  • Learning occurs without constant supervision.
  • Student develops another way of learning.
